Maru-a-Pula School Library

MARUAPULA SCHOOL LIBRARY BULLETIN

The Maru a Pula Library was established in 1972 and it started in a caravan. The present Libray Building was built in 1981 with the support of the American friend of the Library (AFMAP). It was to serve the needs of the school, an in particular to provide resources to supplement curriculum and also to encourage recreational reading with periodicals, vidoes, cassets and books. MISSION STATEMENT The aim of the school library programme is to assist students to develop a commitment to informed decision making and to support the development endeavours in the advancement of learning within the school community. The school library supports curriculum needs through the provision of books, audi-visual resources and information services. LIBRARY VISION In support of the school's strategy of quality education, the library will have a balanced collection and access to current information services to encourage excellence in learning, teaching and research, facilitated by innovative and resourceful staff dedicated to empowering learners to equip themselves for lifelong learning.
